Stimp Rating Explained 

• A stimp rating (or speed) measures how fast a golf ball rolls on a surface (grass, turf, etc.). 

What do the numbers mean? 

• Slow Greens: Has a STIMP rating of 8 or lower. There is more resistance on the ball slowing the roll. 
• Fast Greens: Has a STIMP rating of 12 or higher. There is less resistance on the ball, rolls further with less effort.
